17th Annual River Region Ethics Awards: A Celebration of Ethics in Action
The event will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 5 p.m. at the Alabama Activity Center
The River Region Ethics Awards is a program of The Samaritan Counseling Center, Inc. The Samaritan Counseling Center presents the Awards in order to:
- Foster a climate of ethical integrity in the community by recognizing ethical practices of businesses, organizations and individuals
- Promote awareness and education concerning ethical business and public service behavior
- Heighten awareness regarding programs and services of The Samaritan Counseling
SELECTION PROCESS
As part of the Selection Process, each year a Selection Committee, independent of the Samaritan Counseling Center, is presented with research on businesses and organizations nominated by the Center’s Board of Directors.
The Selection Committee is then faced with the very difficult task of selecting three finalists from among the very deserving nominees—and then faced with the even more daunting task of selecting the recipients in each category. As is true every year, all nominees should feel honored at being recognized for their contributions to the River Region. Samaritan thanks all members of the Committee for their service and for their role in ensuring the independence of the selection process for these distinguished awards.
